PENN HILL, Pa. – Verona Road is closed in both directions due to a landslide that brought down large trees, and possibly wires. The incident was first reported around 8 a.m. on Wednesday.
Authorities worry that due to the all of the rainfall has caused mud to fill a nearby creek. This is causing water to rise up, potentially over it’s banks.
According to online reports, local crews will attempt to dredge the creek, which will lower the water pathway – allowing more water volume to occupy the currently blocked creek by mud.
Allegheny County believes Verona Road will be blocked from Sandy Creek Road and Lincoln Road for most of Wednesday.
