Young Apollo man killed in motorcycle crash

APOLLO, Pa. – An Apollo man died late Friday evening on Dime Road in Parks Township (Armstrong Co.) after he wrecked a motorcycle into an embankment.

Officials reports indicate the victim was identified as 21-year-old Alec D. Miller, an Apollo resident.

Emergency responders were dispatched to the area of Ed’s Tire and Auto Services along Dime Road. The 911 caller saw a motorcycle (a 2018 Husqvarna) driving down the road with no one on it. After further review, the caller could see a victim lying in a nearby field, not moving.

Emergency responders arrived and immediately requested the Armstrong County Coroner to respond to the scene. Miller died as a result of blunt force trauma.

It was not released whether Miller was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Speed was believed to be a factor in the incident.
