WEST MIFFLIN, Pa. (KNNP) – Kennywood fans were extremely disappointed to learn the Pittsburgh-based amusement part, was not using Pittsburgh-based tradition, Heinz Ketchup. Facebook started to trend in addition to Twitter in the tri-state area, even causing a boycott to start. In fear of losing profits, officials at Kennywood Amusement Park quickly cancelled the contract with Hunt’s, and switched to Heinz again.
Palace Entertainment, the owner of Kennywood, made a full-move sail to switch all parks to Hunt’s Ketchup, to save costs. But these “saved costs” quickly added up as fans and patrons started to stop buying season passes. Kennywood employees also were taking verbal and written complaints from paying customers as well.
Officials has also made a move to switch Idlewild and Sandcastle over to Heinz Ketchup fully. Fans were quick to move towards a social media boycott, much like AdPocalypse 3.0 with YouTube advertisers and content creators.
