HOMEWOOD, Pa. (KNNP) – A status update in regards to the OIS (officer-involved shooting) that took place early Sunday morning.
Pittsburgh Public Safety issued a media press release just before 4:00 p.m. According to the press release, the off-duty officer has been identified as Pittsburgh Bureau of Police Officer Calvin Hall, who has been an officer in Pittsburgh for 2 years. He worked previously for the Braddock Police Department for an unspecified amount of time.

According to the release, Officer Hall was in Homewood visiting friends when the shooting occurred. Witnesses stated a pre-wedding party was on-going when an apparent fight broke out.
Pittsburgh Public Safety and Officer Hall’s family requested that privacy should be respected, and to have no contact with his family at this time. KNNP-TV respects the wishes of the family and police department.
Officer Hall was shot multiple times and was the only victim.
