FaceApp is a Russian made AI by Wireless Labs that is capable of making young, old, makeup wearing and other modes of your face out of an uploaded photo.
Earlier today, the app was slammed with non-stop criticism after news articles insisted upon privacy concerns and data storage regulation risks that left Americans panicking.
However, the reality is that the app’s UI simply uses the server’s processing ability to power the application. A lot of processing power goes into the instant delivery of millions of photo manipulations at once.
People are going as far as to call the assault on the Russian made app “an abominable and unacceptable display of profiling, ignorance and discrimination.”
Response on Twitter has amped up as people criticize these higher media outlets and technology giants for calling the app “unsafe” and urging users not to download it.
Concerns over a legitimate data handling and storage scandal remain unfounded and speculative at best.
The application is trending on download charts both on Google Play and the Apple App Store as well as several others.
