KITTANNING, Pa. (KNNP) – Lionsgate and The Lippen Group are prearing for a 2-day shoot in Kittanning Borough on Monday and Tuesday, according to LionsGate officials.
Reportedly, the Netflix series is titled “Manhunt Lone Wolf”, which sets the scene of the 1996 Atlanta Olympic bombings that occured. Kittanning will become the city of Murphy, North Carolina (for movie purposes).
Crews will setup on the Kittanning Citizens Bridge for a two-day shoot, this will become the roadblock scene in which the suspected bomber is being chased by the police. The scene will then travel eastward onto Market Street, and rest at South Jefferson Street in an abandoned building.
According to local officials, the movie set may also film a scene at the Kittanning Church of God on Tuesday night, which is in the northern part of Kittanning Borough.
On Sunday evening, movie crews will begin to transform Kittanning from 2019 to 1996, a time when older vehicles and signage were “vintage”.
A big part of Kittanning happens to be the older Kittanning Citizens Bridge, which will remain closed during the two-day filming. Motorists will have to go through Kittanning and go across the Graff Bridge while the Kittanning Citizens Bridge is closed for production crews.
KNNP-TV spoke to officials at both Lionsgate and The Lippen Group, and will be publishing photos received from the scene set.
