WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, Pa. (KNNP) – Two vehicles were quickly airlifted from the scene of a motorcycle crash in Westmoreland County, near Apollo on Saturday.
Authorities say an unidentified pickup truck driver was following behind a motorycle while travelling south on Route 66. When a helmet fell off of the bike infront of him, the motorcycle porceeded to slow down. The pickup truck slowed down as well, but a motorycle coming up on both of them struck the rear of the pickup truck.
The crash scene happened at Route 66 and the Route 366 intersection.
2 medical helicopters were dispatched to the incident.
One victim was flown to Alleghney Health Network Forbes Hospital.
The other victim was flown to UPMC Presby.
There were 2 additional passengers in the pickup truck at the time of the incident.
