GETTYSBURG, Pa. (KNNP) – Every year, a re-enacment is done at the world’s bloodiest and deadliest battle sites of American history, Gettysburg. But come the summer of 2020, there may be no re-enancement.
According to the Gettysburg Anniversary Committee, the group published on their website that it “does not anticipate organizing or hosting a 157th re-enactment.”
A manager within the group told newspapers that they rather “hit a pause button”, rather than calling it quits entirely. The manager mentioned that every five years, is when they seem to be the most successful and grow visitor interest.
It is unclear whether the event will be officially canceled, or not.
