ATLANTIC OCEAN (KNNP) – Hurricane Dorian has already killed more than 2-dozen people as it whipped through the Bahamas, and entered the coastal region. But as Wednesday night closed, the hurricane restrengthened unexpectedly.
The hurricane, which now sits between Georgia and South Carolina, has prompted tropical alerts for almost 11,000,000 residents.
Storm surge in South Carolina could be over 7-feet tall, which could prompt dangerous flood levels.
Charleston and Myrtle Beach could see over 1-foot of additional rainfall. Residents are urged to seek higher ground if flooding develops.
Hurricane Dorian is currently at 115 MPH winds, according to the National Hurricane Center.
Tropical Storm Gabrielle has developed off the coast of South Africa, and is expected to reach hurricane-strength by Sunday night.
