EVANS CITY (KNNP) – It was a tragic scene Friday morning after a 44-year-old male motorcyclist crashed into a Forward Townsship municipal dump truck along Marburger Road, according to a police report filed. Police confirmed he was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The male, who authorities would not identify, was transported to a UPMC-area hospital where he was pronounced dead just before noon. Medical professionals stated the male, who was from Evans City, died of blunt force trauma to the chest and abdomen.
It is unknown at this time if Forward Township was performing roadwork or why the dump truck was on Marburger Road at the time of the crash. The municipality refused to make comment to reporters.
County officials said an autopsy will not be performed, however, toxicology reports will be made available pending the results.
