SLIPPERY ROCK TWP, Pa. (KNNP) – KNNP-TV has just confirmed the name of the victim who passed away last night in the Route 8 motor-vehicle accident.
Authorities have confirmed to KNNP-TV on Tuesday-afternoon that the body recovered from the crash scene was that of 30-year-old, Michael Brown. Brown was a resident of Harrisville.
Reportedly, Brown was traveling north on William Flynn Highway when the truck he was driving, a Ford F-150 XLT, crosssed the double-yellow line and went and over a steep hillside.
As the truck fell over the hillside, the truck hit a smaller tree which caussed the truck to turn, and then hitting a much larger tree.
Brown died as a result of blunt force trauma, which occured during the crash.
Route 8 North wass closed in both direction for several hours into the early-morning of Christmas Eve.
A full coroners report will be released after an autopsy is performed, and toxicology results are back.
